Goiânia, 1961. Has lived and worked in Brasília since 1972.

Degree in Plastic Arts from the University of Brasília (1979/1985). Master in Art at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (1990/1991), with a scholarship from the British Council. Professor of the Departament of Visual Arts at the University of Brasilia since 1993. Award winner at the National Art Exhibition in Goiás, 2005, the Brasilia Award for Visual Arts in 1998, the Plastic Arts Exhibition at DF in 1991 and 1987 and at the 9th National Exhibition of Plastic Arts, Rio de Janeiro, in 1986.

Rocha has pieces in the following public collections: Culutral Centre of Fine Art, Lima, Peru; MAC, Goiânia, GO; EAV-UFG, Goiânia, GO; Jaime Câmara Foundation, Goiânia, GO; MAB, Brasília, DF; FUNDAJ, Recife, PE; MASC, Florianópolis, SC; MARCO, Campo Grande, MS y FUNARTE, Rio de Janeiro, RJ.

Elder Rocha is represented in Brazil by Laura Marsiaj gallery, Rio de Janeiro, and Moura Marsiaj gallery, São Paulo.
