Masters in Art from Columbia University y Doctor in Visual Arts from the EBA / UFRJ. De Paula is an assistant teacher at the Institute of the Arts / UERJ. She has recieved awards such as Visual Arts of Brasilia, VI Bahia Exhibition and the RioArte Scholarship Program, among others. In 2005 she was resident artist at the Centre of Art Bridge in Brest, France, and staged her first individual exhibition in 1990 at Columbia University, (New York). Since then she has participated in exhibitions at universisities such as the SESC Pines (São Paulo), Culture Box (Rio de Janeiro), the Centre of Bridge Art (Brest, France), he Mythical Helium Centre of Art (Rio de Janeiro), The Joaquim Nabuco Foundation (Recife), Art in General (New York) y the Bronx Museum of the Arts (New York). Her most recent works have been in the Calvaris of the School of Visual Art at the Lage Park and in the Novermber Contemporary Art Gallery (Rio de Janeiro).
